This is the story of Ludwik Cytera's family starting with deportation from Łuck to the slave labour camp 'Diedowka' in the Molotov Oblast of Russia. On being released two years later the family travelled to a soldier recruitment area in Kermine where Ludwik enlisted. Ludwik's family was evacuated to Persia where one of his two children died. His wife Adela and their one remaining son were sent to Masindi in Uganda. Eventually the family reunited in the United Kingdom.
