Tekla Malinowska was deported to Krasna Jarsk in Siberia in 1940 along with her parents, sister Rosia and brother Pawel. She was 14. After the amnesty she made her way to Tengeru in East Africa via Persia and Uzbekistan. After the war she settled in Stover Hostel near Newton Abbot, where she met my father Zygmunt Kropka. Her brother Pawel Malinowski was in the 2nd Corps, which allowed the family access to Stover Hostel. Tekla and Zygmunt married in Canada in 1954.
