Polish Government-in-Exile President Raczkiewicz visiting the crew of Polish Navy destroyer ORP Błyskawica in 1939 after her escape from Poland on 31st August 1939. He is with Lt. Cmdr Tadeusz Gorazdowski who was the commander of the four Polish Navy destroyers during WW2 under British command. This photographs from the private collection of Lieutenant Lesisz. Tadeusz Lesisz was a Polish Navy cadet in 1939, escaping to the UK on ORP Burza. During the war he also served on MGB S3 and ORP Błyskawica and cruiser Dragon, retiring a full commander.
