Wilno Railroad Station
While the 3rd battalion of KOP was deployed at Augustow and the simultaneous invasions were in progress. Lucian Aksnowicz was assigned as a courier to carry documents and letters back to Slobodka Zawierska. Above is a photo of the Wilno railroad station where he was captured and detained by Soviet military. About 2000 Polish soldiers were then marched to a large field near Nowa Wilejka where a separation was made of officers and enlisted personal. Subsequently all were shipped by rail to unknown destinations.
