Wall of Tribute Submission

Thank you for helping to preserve the memory of the Polish citizens and their heroic struggles outside the borders of present-day Poland.   This includes the residents of the pre-war eastern borderlands (‘Kresy’  of Poland, and the fate that they suffered at the hands of foreign invaders during World War II.  It also includes those who were repressed and deported to forced labour by the Soviets and the Nazis, those who stayed in the Kresy and suffered repression there, as well as those who retreated from the advancing German and Soviet invaders to continue the fight for Poland from foreign soil.

Polish Forces:  In recounting the story of the Polish First Armoured Division, the Polish Air Force, the Polish Navy, and the Polish Second Corps, it becomes impossible to separate those who came from the Kresy area and those who did not.  For this reason, these units will be addressed in their entirety.

By submitting the names of your family members who shared this history, you are contributing to our singular mission of researching and preserving the World War Two history of its heroic Polish patriots. You will also be helping us to correct the errors and omissions in the history books.  The Wall of Tribute is a partial listing of those who experienced these struggles, and it will continue to grow as more names are submitted.  The Wall includes those who survived, as well as those who perished; many lying in unknown places, in unmarked graves.   The Wall will ensure that their stories are preserved for posterity.

In order to submit names to the Wall of Tribute, we request that you fill out the online form.   Once the information has been vetted by a member of the Virtual Museum staff, the names will then appear on the Wall of Tribute.  By submitting the names of your relatives, you agree that this information will appear on the Wall of Tribute and may be viewed by any individuals who visit the Virtual Museum web site.  In addition to the information you provide in the questionnaire, you may also add a photo and  a brief description of their fate.
