- Description: His father was a pharmacist and mother a teacher, and they also were landowners. His sister Danuta is 9 years older than he. His father was arrested by the Soviets in 1939 and sent him to Murmansk where they later learned that he was crushed by a tree and died there. They had letters from him when they were in Siberia, then the letters stopped coming.
Mother sister and he were sent to Africa, then his sister joined the Polish Air Force and was trained as a nurse. Her husband was also in the Polish Air Force (not a pilot).
His mother moved to California with him until she died. His sister and her husband did as well, but she moved to Pennsylvania 15 years ago.
