When the war was over he was given to the Edinburgh Zoo where he lived to be 22 years old. A veteran told me that one man was assigned to look after Wojtek -- everything from feeding, bathing and training him. He was well behaved and as you can see from the photo he was enjoyed by all that came into contact with him.
