ORP Sokol was a U-Class submarine commissioned to the Polish Navy, from the Royal Navy from 11 Jan 1941 - 27 July 1945. She was a sister boat to submarine ORP Dzik and they both operated in the Mediterranean from Malta where they became known as the "terrible twins". This photograph with Polish crew was possible when the Polish flag was raised on ORP Sokol on 19 Jan 1941, just after being commissioned from the RN.
