ORP Sokol was a U-Class submarine commissioned to the Polish Navy, from the Royal Navy from 11 Jan 1941 - 27 July 1945. She was a sister boat to submarine ORP Dzik and they both operated in the Mediterranean from Malta where they became known as the "terrible twins". This photograph with Polish crew was taken in 1944. In early 1944 Sokol was based in the Aegean (where she sank a Greek ship) and she left Malta in Feb 1944 for Dundee with "terrible twin" Dzik where they were attached to the Dundee-based 9th submarine flotilla.
