Three Polish submarines ORP Zbik, ORP Sep and ORP Rys interned in Marielund, Sweden from September 1939 until 1945. Andrzej Sadowski's father ,Kazimierz Sadowski ,was the Torpedo Officer aboard ORP Zbik. This photograph - taken in September 1939 - shows the commander of ORP Ryś, Captain Aleksander Grochowski (1901-1992), with Swedish internment officer, Captain Erlass.
