Christmas dinner in a can and ice in the house

Name: Jerzy Wiktor Bockenhein
Description: Describing how his mother cooked some wheat in a can for their Christmas Eve dinner. Also describes how the hut they lived in would be buried in snow right to the roof line, and the inside walls were covered in ice. (Note: Jerzy has had a stutter since the start of the war, when a bomb landed on their house and frightened him so much that he did not speak at all for some days).
