Gallery – German & Soviet Invasion
Nazi legitimacy document
Legitimacy document given to Alexandra's father Zygmunt Pracki by the Nazis - He was taken by the Wermacht as a POW during the September 1939 campaign. He then convinced the German 'Komendant' to allow him to leave the forced march towards Germany by (falsely) claiming that he had been born in a western part of Poland at a time whenthis could have claimed him as being German. Zygmunt Pracki then crossed over into Soviet occupied Eastern Poland. He ended up as a POW in USSR and was evacuated to Iran with Anders Army.
