He was in the Polish Airforce in Poznan, then was captured by the Russians and sent to Riowne camp, were he spent 2 years, He joined Anders Army in Totskoye , then to Persia and finally to England He landed in Blackpool in July 1942 his service number was703650 Polish Airforce in England . He was Electrician with ground crew in 304 Squadron then 302 with whom he stayed with in Europe till the end of the war

Aniela Zak nee Dziedziec was the 2nd wife of Jan Zak, the first being Anna Machniak 1886-1925/6? She was my mothers step mother, she had 6 children, the last (Wladyslaw) being born in Siberia 1940 and died in the same year. Only two children Helena & Jozefa survived, but Antoni Jozef & Leon died along with the mother in Siberia in 1942.

Three Polish submarines ORP Zbik, ORP Sep and ORP Rys interned in Sweden from 25th September 1939 - Marielund, Sweden until 1945. Andrzej Sadowski's father, Kazimierz Sadowski, was the Torpedo Officer aboard ORP Zbik. This article shows the German ships that ORP Zbik sank in the Baltic during the September campaign, before her internment in Sweden.

From the album of Captain Mieczysław Wozniak (1918-1972) who was a a Polish cadet of the class of 1938 and was on the sail training ship Iskra in the Mediterranean when war broke out. He became the youngest recipient of the French Legion D'Honneur for heroism at Casablanca in 1939 when the French mine-laying cruiser blew up whilst unloading mines killing 186 and causing much port damage.

The photo is dated 7/11/1939 at which time Adolf Smolnicki was detained in a Hungarian camp with other Polish Soldiers who had escaped both the German and Soviet Invasion of the Lwowskie province and fled to Hungary . The place is written on back of photo as Risbolock?? . Is this where the camp was in Hungary??
