Zofia Sokolowska took part in this outing during the 1930s. Following the restoration of Polish independence, the Polish government was trying to restore the Polishness of Poles Russified over the 125 years of Russian rule. This field trip was organized for people with "noble" Polish names, the so-called szlachta.

Franciszek Prusinski - These ID papers " Dowd Osobisty" belonged to my Great Grandfather on my Mother's side of the family. My Mothers Father brought these papers to New Zealand with him. They were issued in Poland in 1936

My Great Grandfather - This is a photo of my Great Grandfather Franciszek Prusinski, taken in 1936. He was born in 1878 and died in Siberia some time between 1940-1942 (my mother was to young to remember the exact date).

Warszawka 1928. This photo comes from Barbara Kwietniowski, whose grandfather was Jozef Kuryś. The man in the back row at the far right is my own grandfather, Lucjan Wiśniowski. On the reverse of the photo card is written, in the handwriting of Jozef Kuryś: "dnia 22 III 1928, Warszawka." [22 March 1928, Warszawka] Barbara Kwietniowski writes: "Tadeusz Kuryś (my father) identified the following people from the photograph: - Third from the right at the back - Józef Kuryś (his father); - At the very left at the back - Wicherek - Józef's wife's stepfather (Józef's wife was Ludwika Piastka, she had two sisters in the US); - 2nd Row, 2nd from the left - Aleksander Kwolek; - Front Row, 2nd from the left - Gurgacz (godfather to someone in our family, but he couldn't remember who); - Front row on the right - Rosiek (with grey hair).

Photo of dad (3rd row from front, 5th from right) holding trumpet/cornet. Does anybody know where this is? Can anybody translate the writing on the drum? I think it might be connected to either the Trade School or the seminary he was in before the war? Again, does anybody recognise anyone in the picture?
