Drawing of Bower Wood Refugee Camp England
The camp in England is Bower Wood Polish Refugee Camp, near Beaconsfield, Bucks. It is shown with interesting perspective, with flowers almost as tall as the trees. This kind of perspective was also present in the other drawings, highlighting what was important at the time, in the eyes of a teenager.

Liberated from forced labour
Józefa Jurek, probably in Germany in 1945 shortly after liberation following two years of forced labour on a farm. She was likely 18 when this picture was taken.

At a DP barracks in Germany
Polish refugees who had been taken from their homes to toil in Germany for the Third Reich pose at a barracks in happier times following liberation. This photo was probably taken in 1946 or 1947. The precise location is unknown but it is likely at a camp near Hannover. Józefa Jurek is just to the right of the middle, in a high-knecked dark dress.
