University of Rome ID card.
After the war Edward, with many others, was given leave to study in Italy, whilst decisions were made as to what was to be done with the Polish soldiers who did not wish to return to their now communist-run country. Edward chose to continue his study of architecture, which he did at the University of Rome between March and September 1946.

Antoni Baryluk
The gentleman with Antonina is Antoni Baryluk, her husband and I believe the photograph was taken approximately in 1947/8 at the Doddington Polish Camp in Cheshire, England. The uniform I believe is of the 'Polish Resettlement Corps' in which he served as a L/Cpl between 6th December 1946 and 5th December 1948. He was awarded the War Medal 1939/45 (Brirish Decoration) I think also that he served in the army when in Poland but I don't know where or when and I don't know how or when he got to England. Antonia also had a son, Michal Antoni Baryluk. whose last permanent address after Sibera was India. He arrived in England on the 23 December 1947 from Singapore as a Polish Refugee Patient. Again I don't know why he was sent to Singapore but I do know he came from there to England on the H.S Somersetshire. So many gaps of knowledge and where do you start. What I would really like is birth certificates for the Baryluk's and how and when they where sent from their village to Siberia and then the Journey from there to India and where in India.
