Description: Andrew was born in Lukowiec-Wisniewski, Province of Stanislawow, Poland, the eldest son of Maria Dul. As a young man of 17, Andrzej witnessed the invasion of his homeland, Poland by Nazi Germany and the outbreak of the Second World War. He served with the Polish Forces under British Command April 1, 1942, to December 15, 1946. After the war he immigrated to Canada from Great Britain arriving at Halifax May 8, 1947. He was part of the first contingent of Polish veterans accepted by Canada. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery, Winnipeg.Information from the obituary published in the Winnipeg Free Press on September 28, 2002.
