Antoni tells how his mother took the family photos and her fox fur to Siberia – she had the fur all through the journey, and still had it when they reached the UK. She also never stopped looking for her husband. They did not learn until the 1970s that he had been killed on Sept. 8th, 1939. He had been a pilot in the Polish Air Force.
